Production Line with Integration of 10 Universal Robots

One of the main French meter manufacturers has worked closely with HighTaix (a subsidiary of ASM) to automate the assembly of its various models. The objective of this fully automated production line was both to automate the assembly but also the multiple tests necessary for the qualification of the meters.

The main challenge of this project came from the many references to manage (9 components maximum, more than 30 possible versions), packaged in different ways.

To remedy this, ASM has specially designed a production line for its client equipped with multiple state-of-the-art equipment: 10 Universal Robots, 8 ATEQ controllers, multiple supply systems, 6 vision systems, some of which are embedded in the robots, management OFs with exchange with the ERP / the CAPM…

This 18-month project was an important milestone for ASM, as it demonstrated its ability to design a production line of significant size, fully automated and with a significant number of robots.

After more than 15,000 hours of design and installation, the completion of this fully automated line is scheduled for early 2021.
